Importing Personal Effects to Gran Canaria
If you are moving to the Canary Islands from within
the EU, you can import most of your goods without
any formalities, the only restriction is that you must
have paid tax or VAT at purchase or owned the
goods for more than 6 months. As the Canary Islands are part
of the EU, EU citizens do not require a visa to enter the country.
Hunts and our agents will assist you with completion of customs formalities. To assist us with this please let us have a copy of your passport. The required documentation will be supplied to you on arrival. To avoid any potential additional charges and delays at customs clearance, it is advisable that relevant forms are completed and returned promptly to our Agents. The most important requirement is your NIE (National Identification Certificate) that is issued by the local police department.
